Production Release Status
TSCR v2.5.0.0 is the first official production release of the TSCR desktop application and the first complete product built on the TSCR security platform.
This release introduces the production website and distribution channel, a complete live purchase and activation workflow, automatic/deferred/offline activation modes, checkout QR codes, PayPal development-support integration, legal-document handling, the multilingual Help/About system, the protected fallback language module, and the finalized TSCR Tray/app-interface workflow.
TSCR v2.5.0.0 is also the technological foundation for the planned TSCR Data & Secrets Security Ecosystem.
Overview
TSCR – Top Secret Chrono Crypt is a proprietary, multi-platform data protection and encryption system designed for individuals, professionals, organizations, and companies that need direct control over sensitive data, private files and folders, keys, passwords, tokens, notes, and other personal or business secrets.
TSCR is built around an original chrono-entropic architecture in which time-dependent transformation and controlled unpredictability are treated as structural security parameters, not as decorative or post-processing effects. The goal is not merely declarative encryption, but practical, serious, and trustworthy data protection.
Unlike traditional tools that primarily rely on long-known, widely analysed, and standardized cryptographic patterns, TSCR introduces its own proprietary chrono-entropic model with strong multi-layer encryption and variable key evolution. This original black-box engine design, combined with key-assisted protection logic, native TSCR profiles, AES integration, and unified workflows for protecting text, files, folders, and secrets, gives TSCR a distinct security identity and an important competitive advantage.
Rather than acting as a single fixed algorithm or a simple wrapper around existing encryption standards, TSCR is structured as a layered protection framework composed of a proprietary core engine, multiple operational encryption profiles, unified workflows for text, files, folders, and secrets, local-first storage and protection logic, and multiple interface environments.
This architecture enables different protection profiles designed to adapt encryption behaviour to specific needs — from balanced everyday use, through AES-integrated processing for larger files and data volumes, to TOP SECRET TSCR for PARANOID-LEVEL protection.
TSCR brings together practical data protection, local encryption, text and file/folder workflows, secret management, secure-value generation, multilingual interface support, desktop tray/shortcut access, system diagnostics, update handling, production purchase and activation, legal-document access, and controlled application-integrity / anti-abuse protection into one integrated environment. In that way, it represents a usable hybrid between an advanced data-protection tool and a personal/business secret-management system.
Core protection workflows are designed to work locally, without requiring a permanent cloud connection or external trust layer. Online services are used only for clearly defined operations that require network communication, such as purchase, payment confirmation, activation synchronization, selected backup/migration functions, updates, and support workflows.
The desktop application includes a dedicated app-interface layer for system tray access, instant show/hide behaviour, shortcut handling, and auxiliary desktop utilities. Future TSCR modules, services, and platforms are planned as part of the broader TSCR Data & Secrets Security Ecosystem roadmap.

The term “Top Secret” is used as a product name and security-profile designation. It does not imply governmental classification, approval, certification, or endorsement.
Core Concepts
Chrono-Entropic Encryption
TSCR uses a proprietary chrono-entropic approach where time, controlled unpredictability, key-assisted transformation, and deterministic reversibility under valid conditions work together as part of the protection model.
Local-First Security
Sensitive data is primarily processed and protected locally. The user remains in direct control of keys, files, vault data, and protected outputs.
Key-Based Protection
The user key remains a critical security element. Without the correct key and valid protected data, encrypted TSCR content cannot be practically restored into readable form.
Layered Security Workflow
TSCR is not intended to be only a single-purpose encrypt/decrypt utility. It brings together text encryption, file/folder protection, secret storage, secret generation, multilingual support, updates, licensing, and diagnostic/security-oriented workflows.
Application Integrity, Protected Runtime, and Controlled Access
TSCR is based on the principle that user data and secrets cannot be sufficiently protected if the application and its engine are not sufficiently protected.
For that reason, TSCR protects not only user data, but also its own engine, runtime, local identity, protection state, and licensing workflow. Approximately 98% of TSCR's own application and runtime code is protected by the original TSCR encryption and controlled code-loading system, effectively covering virtually all key functional application code.
Protected layers are decrypted and loaded in a controlled manner during execution instead of remaining permanently exposed as ordinary readable source code. Together with the TSCR black-box strategy, integrity checks, anti-reset, anti-abuse, license-protection, and controlled Demo/Recovery mechanisms, this model significantly increases resistance to analysis, unauthorized modification, state manipulation, and application misuse.
These mechanisms are intentionally described at a high level so that the protection model can be explained without exposing internal implementation details, storage locations, or classification rules.

Encryption Profiles
TSCR provides three main operational protection profiles.
TSCR Mode
TSCR mode is the balanced/optimal native chrono-entropic profile for everyday use.
It is suitable for smaller and medium text/data workloads where the user wants a practical balance between protection, speed, and output size.
TOP SECRET Mode
TOP SECRET mode is a PARANOID-LEVEL security profile that uses a multiple (x256 !!) expanded encryption set.
It is intended for scenarios where protection has priority over speed and output size. As expected, it is the slowest native TSCR profile, but for short texts it can have very favorable overhead.
Use this profile for highly sensitive text, compact secrets, keys, credentials, confidential notes, and other scenarios where maximum native TSCR protection is preferred over speed and output size.
TSCR AES Mode
TSCR AES mode is a TSCR-customized AES-integrated profile intended for efficient work with larger files and larger amounts of data.
Before the AES layer, data is additionally prepared, processed, pre-encrypted, and hashed through the TSCR workflow, so it is not intended to be practically decrypted by a classic AES procedure alone without the TSCR AES decryptor.
This mode is generally the most practical choice for larger files, folders, and bulk data.
For text, compact secrets, short payloads, and smaller files, native TSCR profiles can be highly efficient: practical tests have shown that TSCR, and in some compact-payload scenarios even TOP SECRET TSCR, may achieve roughly 10–20x faster encryption with lower output overhead compared to AES-based processing, despite modern CPU-level AES acceleration.
Secret Vault
TSCR includes Trezor Tajni / Secret Vault, a structured local vault for storing and managing sensitive data.
The vault is intended for:
- login credentials,
- accounts,
- banking data,
- payment card data,
- API keys,
- tokens,
- secure notes,
- personal secrets,
- and other sensitive records.
Secret Vault supports workflows such as:
- add new secret,
- edit existing secret,
- delete secret,
- search and filter records,
- copy selected values,
- import secrets,
- export vault data,
- use Secret Generator directly from the vault workflow.
Secrets are stored in a local TSCR-protected vault, so even if an attacker obtains the vault file, the stored content is not intended to be usable without the required protection context.
TSCR also includes Online Vault support as a server/database-backed backup and migration option for secrets. Its purpose is to extend Secret Vault workflows beyond local-only storage while preserving the core TSCR principle: secret payloads should be stored in encrypted form so that the secret itself is not available in an untrusted environment.
Secret Generator
TSCR includes Secret Generator / TT-Generator / SV-Generator, depending on the active language context.
It can generate multiple controlled secret types:
- passwords,
- passphrases,
- PIN codes,
- tokens,
- API keys,
- UUID values,
- usernames,
- WiFi passwords,
- test card values,
- short secure phrases.
The generator also includes a practical estimator for approximate strength, entropy, and estimated cracking time.
Passphrase generation can use localized and multilingual dictionaries, including LangMIX mode for combining words from multiple language dictionaries.
Multilingual Runtime
TSCR includes a multilingual interface system based on a local encrypted language file, database-backed language support, and fallback logic.
Supported language areas include:
- GUI labels,
- buttons,
- menus,
- dialogs,
- tooltips,
- Help/About documentation,
- status messages,
- language names,
- script names,
- passphrase dictionary metadata.
TSCR also includes a TSCR-AI language assistant workflow for generating additional interface languages and passphrase dictionaries, using checkpoint/resume logic, structure validation, HTML-safe processing, and provider fallback.
AI-generated languages are practically usable, but they should be treated as AI-generated drafts until reviewed by a human.
System Information
TSCR includes an extended system information panel with diagnostic and informational data such as:
- system information,
- user environment,
- CPU and memory data,
- disk/storage data,
- network information,
- public IP,
- geo information when available,
- weather/meteo information when available,
- air-quality/allergen information when available.
This module is primarily informational and diagnostic.
Desktop Interface, TSCR Tray, and Shortcuts
TSCR includes a dedicated desktop app-interface layer and TSCR Tray workflow that make the application immediately available without interrupting the user's current work.
With a single F9 press, the user can show TSCR, protect a text, file, folder, or secret, press F9 again to return TSCR to the system tray, and continue the previous task. Direct tray access to the main TSCR areas significantly improves speed, practicality, and everyday usability.
Supported desktop-interface functions include:
- system tray icon and tray menu,
- quick show/hide access to the main TSCR window,
- direct tray access to key TSCR areas such as Text, Files/Folders, Vault, Generator, SysInfo, and related tools,
- safe exit handling from hidden/tray state,
- Windows global shortcut support using F9 and Ctrl+F9,
- Linux/KDE/Wayland shortcut bridge support through D-Bus,
.desktoplauncher integration, and KGlobalAccel setup, - internal Qt shortcut fallback for environments where global desktop shortcuts are not available,
- auxiliary SysPad utility for quick plain/encrypted text handling.
On Windows, F9 and Ctrl+F9 are intended as quick show/hide shortcuts. Some applications may reserve or intercept F9, so Ctrl+F9 is also supported as a more reliable alternative.
On Linux/KDE/Wayland, TSCR can use a D-Bus + .desktop + KGlobalAccel setup for global shortcuts. Depending on the desktop session and shortcut registration state, a manual KDE shortcut setup, logout, or session restart may be required before the shortcut becomes active. On other Linux desktop environments, tray access remains available, while shortcut behaviour may fall back to internal Qt shortcuts when TSCR is focused.
SysPad is an auxiliary desktop utility intended for quick plain/encrypted text handling. It is not a replacement for the main Text tab or Secret Vault workflow.
License and Activation
TSCR v2.5.0.0 includes a complete production purchase and licensing workflow with support for PRO-03, PRO-06, PRO-12, PRO-24, and LEGACY license plans.
The workflow covers plan selection, purchase-ID generation, secure checkout, payment-status tracking, activation, email delivery/records, local license finalization, and controlled synchronization with TSCR services.
Three activation modes are available:
- Automatic activation — the default and recommended mode. It is designed for the fastest and simplest continuation of work after payment is confirmed.
- Deferred activation — allows the user to purchase a future license in advance and activate it later using the activation code delivered by email.
- Offline / manual activation — intended for a TSCR device that does not have direct internet access during purchase or activation. The checkout can be completed on another online device, after which the license code and offline token are used on the original TSCR device.
In all three modes, the checkout page can be opened directly from TSCR or transferred to a phone by scanning the displayed QR code, enabling convenient mobile payment without changing the underlying purchase and activation workflow.
Important license rules:
- TSCR licenses do not stack.
- A new time-limited license starts when activation is successfully completed, not when the purchase is created.
- Automatic activation is primarily intended for users whose license has expired or who do not currently have an active license.
- Deferred activation is intended for users who still have a valid license but want to buy the next license in advance.
- An unpaid active purchase can be cancelled and recreated with another plan or activation mode.
- A confirmed paid purchase cannot be treated as an abandoned unpaid checkout.
Core local TSCR protection functions are not dependent on a permanent server connection. Network access is used where required for checkout, payment verification, activation synchronization, email delivery, selected updates, and related service operations.
License and access states also include:
- Trial mode for an eligible first-time user/device,
- Demo mode as a controlled one-hour limited-access state with visible remaining time,
- automatic transition from expired Demo mode to restricted access,
- Recovery/restricted states for unresolved identity, integrity, protection, or license situations,
- application-integrity, anti-reset, anti-abuse, and license-protection checks.
Trial and Demo are not the same state. Trial is intended for an eligible valid new user/device. Demo is a controlled limited-time environment used for evaluation and selected non-regular runtime situations. Restarting the application does not reset the Demo period.
TSCR may restrict access when it cannot establish a trusted identity, license, integrity, or local protection state. This behaviour is part of the application's defense-in-depth and license-protection model.
File Format
TSCR uses the .tscr format for encrypted files and selected protected local application data.
When decrypting TSCR files, the application can detect the relevant internal protection profile so the user does not have to manually know which mode was used for encryption.

Typical installation flow:
- Download the package for your platform.
- Extract the archive.
- Run the TSCR executable.
- Set your login password and personal/master key.
- Start protecting your files, text, and secrets.
Available packages may include:

- Linux build
Additional platform-specific builds and mobile versions are planned as part of the TSCR development roadmap.
Exact package names and version numbers depend on the current release.
Basic Usage
Encrypting Text
- Open the Text tab.
- Enter the text you want to encrypt.
- Select the encryption profile.
- Click Encrypt.
- Copy or save the encrypted result as needed.
Decrypting Text
- Open the Text tab.
- Enter the encrypted text.
- Make sure the correct key is active.
- Click Decrypt.
Encrypting Files/Folders
- Open the Files/Folders tab.
- Select the target file or folder.
- Choose the desired protection profile.
- Click the appropriate encryption action.
- The encrypted output will be saved as a
.tscrfile.
Folders are handled through a controlled ZIP → encrypt workflow: TSCR temporarily creates a ZIP archive from the selected folder, encrypts it, and then removes the temporary ZIP when the workflow completes successfully.
Using Hash, Zip, and UnZip
The Files/Folders area also includes utility Hash, Zip, and UnZip functions. Hash/checksum values are calculated for files and archives. For folder-level integrity checks, create a ZIP archive first and then calculate the hash of the resulting ZIP file.
Working with Secret Vault
- Open the Vault tab.
- Add, edit, search, copy, import, or export secrets.
- Use Secret Generator when you need a new strong value.
- Keep backups/export files protected.
Quick Access, Tray, and Shortcuts
- Use the system tray menu for quick access to main TSCR areas when the application is minimized or hidden.
- On Windows, use F9 or Ctrl+F9 for quick show/hide access.
- On Linux/KDE/Wayland, use the configured TSCR shortcut bridge where available.
- Use SysPad only as an auxiliary quick text utility; use the main Text tab and Secret Vault for primary encryption and secret-management workflows.
Buying and Activating a License
- Open the License tab.
- Select the required PRO or LEGACY plan.
- Select the activation mode. Automatic is the default and recommended option.
- Create the purchase.
- Open the checkout directly or scan the displayed QR code with a phone.
- Complete payment through the official checkout page.
- Keep TSCR open while the payment status is checked, or reopen TSCR later to continue the saved purchase workflow.
- Complete the mode-specific activation:
- automatic activation continues without manual code entry;
- deferred activation uses the code delivered by email;
- offline/manual activation uses the delivered license code and offline token.
A new time-limited license starts from successful activation. It does not extend or stack on top of an already active license.
Security Recommendations
- Keep your master key safe.
- Do not share your key through insecure channels.
- Use strong, unique keys and passwords.
- Use TOP SECRET mode for highly sensitive compact data.
- Use TSCR AES mode for larger files and folders.
- Keep Secret Vault exports protected.
- Delete or encrypt unprotected export files after use.
- Treat temporary or decrypted ZIP archives as sensitive files while they exist on disk.
- Use Hash/checksum values when you want an additional integrity check for files or archives.
- Do not disable application login without a clear reason.
- Regularly update TSCR when new versions are available.
- Use only official TSCR release/update channels.
- Do not manually delete or reset local license/protection/application data unless you understand the consequences; the application may enter Demo, Recovery, or restricted-access state.
- Do not rely on application restart to reset Demo access; Demo is a controlled limited-time state tied to the runtime protection workflow.
- Treat cloud/server storage as untrusted unless the data is encrypted before leaving your local environment.
Legal Documents and Development Support
TSCR includes an integrated Legal Documents area with access to:
- End-User License Agreement (EULA),
- Terms of Sale, including the applicable refund/cancellation section,
- Privacy Policy,
- Security Notice,
- Donation Policy.
EULA acceptance is required before first regular use of the applicable release. Acceptance information is stored as part of the controlled local/application record.
Users can support further TSCR development through the official Support / Donate workflow. The donation page can be opened directly or through the displayed PayPal QR code.
The applicable legal-document versions are available directly through the application. Public copies and release information may also be provided through the official TSCR website.
Roadmap
TSCR v2.5.0.0 is the first complete product and technological core of the future TSCR Data & Secrets Security Ecosystem.
The planned development direction includes:
- TSCR Authenticator for TOTP/HOTP authentication and 2FA-secret management,
- TSCR-AI Security Assistant for intelligent security analysis, assistance, and controlled automation,
- TSCR SecureCode engine/framework as a language-agnostic system for protecting and controlling the execution of application code,

The objective is for TSCR to evolve from the current Premium Data & Secrets Protection Tool into a broader Hybrid Cybersecurity & Cryptography Solution, and then into a modular Data & Secrets Security Ecosystem.
Project History
The original algorithmic idea dates back to around 2000, when it was created as part of the “ZAPATA” POS software context to address practical data-protection needs.
The project evolved through several stages:
- TimeCRYPT
- ECCrypt – ErraticChronoCRYPT
- TSCR – Top Secret Chrono Crypt
Today, TSCR is developed as a standalone proprietary security product focused on practical data and secrets protection.
